Mural project I did for a local laundry shop in Rotterdam, a multicultural city that distinguishes itself from other dutch cities due to its modern and eccentric architecture.
CONCEPT
The idea was to represent some of the architectural icons that represent Rotterdam and play with the message that the city, in spite of its high rise, modern and unconventional architecture is nothing without the local community (in this case the laundry shop) that brings it colour and nuance.
PROCESS
The project started with an original digital design that was then translated to the wall using an isometric grid. This made it easier to sketch it out to proportion. Then the lighter colours were painted (greens and blues), followed by gray and finally the black shading and outlines.
